Oregon's Attorney General Dan Rayfield has dropped his legal efforts to delay the Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery merger, citing non-compliance from the company.
Rayfield said in a statement that Paramount had made it clear they were above the law: 'We’re not going to let them waste Oregonians’ resources on these games.' Meanwhile, the company is pleased with the decision, but the AG's office remains unsatisfied.
The focus now shifts as other states like California and New York consider antitrust actions. Paramount, run by major Trump supporters David and Larry Ellison, is also facing opposition from Hollywood for its lobbying efforts, codenamed 'Project Warrior'.
Hollywood is united in opposition to the deal, with even President Biden hinting at potential consequences for Netflix if it keeps Susan Rice on its board.
