Tesla is facing a mammoth recall in China, with nearly 3 million Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles needing updated warning labels for emergency exit procedures.

Chinese regulators are tightening their scrutiny of electronically controlled car doors after several fatal crashes where trapped occupants couldn't escape burning cars. New rules mandate specific handle dimensions from next year, but older models will get retrofitted until 2028.

In a second recall, Tesla must update the driver monitoring systems in 2.74 million vehicles to include interior camera tracking to detect if drivers are looking at their screens instead of the road.
