The U.S. nutrition startup Berry Street has merged with India’s Healthify, banking on the growing popularity of GLP-1 drugs for weight loss. The companies say Berry Street founder Noah Kotlove and Healthify founder Tushar Vashisht will co-run the new entity.
Healthify, backed by Khosla Ventures and valued at over $150 million, offers AI coaching alongside human nutritional advice through its app. It has served more than 45 million customers globally, including expanding into the U.S. last year and launching GLP-1 programs in India.
Berry Street also boasts a network of over 2,000 clinics and provides insurance-covered GLP-1 care, having recently raised $50 million from investors like Northzone, Sofina, and FJ Labs. Together, they claim to redefine metabolic care, providing daily nutrition guidance through AI.
“By combining our clinical expertise with Healthify’s advanced AI technologies, we are set to offer unparalleled nutritional support,” said Berry Street founder Noah Kotlove in a statement.
The move comes amidst growing interest in GLP-1 drugs, with JP Morgan predicting over 30 million Americans will be prescribed these medications by 2030. As the two companies integrate their services, they aim to tap into both markets more effectively, leveraging each other’s strengths.
