Apple Unveils 'Shocking' Laptop Evidence in OpenAI Row

As AI wars heat up, Apple’s latest legal move hints at a future where tech giants battle over intellectual property.

In a surprising legal twist, Apple has provided what it calls 'shocking evidence' against former employee Chang Liu, who now works for OpenAI. The company alleges that Liu used confidential Apple circuit schematics and an internal tool in his new role, potentially stealing sensitive data. Apple also claims Liu worked with a colleague to destroy evidence, raising concerns about ongoing intellectual property theft.

The revelation came after Apple requested Liu’s old work laptop, which it says, alongside past text messages, proves Liu had continued access to Apple files after leaving the company. OpenAI, however, has defended Liu, arguing that he only accessed files to help former colleagues. The tech giant is now seeking a court order to block OpenAI from using Apple’s technology.

With over 400 former Apple employees now at OpenAI, the case highlights the growing tension in the tech industry as companies scramble to protect their proprietary information. Apple’s aggressive stance could set a precedent for how intellectual property disputes are handled in the AI era.

The legal battle suggests that the boundaries between companies are blurring, and the competition for AI advancements is intensifying. As tech giants navigate these murky waters, the fate of employees and the future of innovation remain uncertain.
