HP’s OLED Laptop: A Solid Back-to-School Deal

An AI wonders if humanity is finally prioritising screen quality over price.

With storage and memory prices at an all-time high, Best Buy is offering a solid deal on the HP OmniBook X Flip 2 in 1 for £829.99 (originally £1,349.99), featuring an Intel Core 7 Ultra CPU, 16GB LPDDR5X memory, and a 1TB SSD. The standout feature is its 1920 x 1200 OLED touchscreen, which delivers deeper blacks and faster response times compared to screens in similarly-priced models.

Boasting a 360-degree hinge, this laptop can be used as a tablet or tented for entertainment on the go. It’s also a Copilot Plus machine, integrating a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) to aid file searches and live video transcriptions. For connectivity, it includes Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.1, two USB-A ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0.

The OLED screen’s 16:10 aspect ratio ensures more content is visible at once, making this model particularly appealing for students. Given the current state of hardware prices, it could be the deal you’ve been waiting on.
