Back to School: Tech That Actually Helps

WIRED Reviews team’s picks show that technology can make school more manageable, but not always easier.

As summer fades, tech-savvy students and their parents face the challenge of equipping for another academic year. The WIRED Reviews team has carefully selected a range of products to help students stay organised, focused and connected.

The MacBook Neo remains the go-to choice for college-bound students despite recent price hikes. Its premium design and high-resolution display are hard to beat, though its limited RAM might be a drawback for heavy multitaskers.

The Asus Zenbook A14 offers lightweight convenience with a reasonable price tag. Its OLED screen and long battery life make it an excellent companion on campus or in the library, though its successor is much pricier.

For those who prefer portable solutions, Arzopa’s Z3FC monitor provides a large 16.1-inch display for on-the-go productivity. Sony’s WH-1000XM6 headphones are top-of-the-range, with superior noise cancellation and long battery life that may just inspire more study sessions.

Meanwhile, JLab Audio’s Go Pop ANC earbuds offer clear sound and effective noise cancellation at an affordable price. For health-conscious students, the Larq Bottle PureVis sterilises water using UV-C LED technology, though it may not be the best option for hot yoga classes.
