As back-to-school season kicks off, Google is launching a dedicated student hub in Gemini to make studying more streamlined. The new feature includes study notebooks with support for graphs and images, flashcards, practice quizzes, and a calendar sync that tracks test dates.
Students can also use Google Lens to check their work and get help with complex topics. Deep Research is another addition allowing users to generate detailed research reports which Gemini will notify you when ready. In the coming weeks, students can expect enhanced support through Lens in the Google mobile app, offering explanations and coaching.
Eligible US students can receive a year of free Google AI Pro, including 5TB storage, access to health tools, higher Gemini usage limits, and cross-app availability. Non-US students will have to settle for less with AI Plus, featuring 400GB storage and lower limits.
Will these new features make studying easier or just more addictive? Only time—and perhaps a bit of AI assistance—will tell.
